AutoDST

Support

AutoDST Link for Mac and Windows, and the AutoDST app for iPad.

AutoDST Link is free. It sends DST designs to S1501-type embroidery machines over your network and saves the machine’s designs back as DST files.

Before you start: put your machine on your network

Recommended: a Wi-Fi bridge. A small box plugged into the machine’s network socket joins your Wi-Fi and makes the machine work as if a cable ran to your router — faster and steadier than the machine’s own Wi-Fi adapter. The apps find the machine right away, and it answers at once even after sitting idle. It runs on power from the machine’s USB port and takes about 15 minutes to set up, once.

Wi-Fi bridge guide  print it first (PDF) — during setup your device is off the internet

Machine right next to your router? A network cable from the machine to the router works just as well.

Already using RnEmbNet or the machine’s own Wi-Fi adapter? AutoDST Link talks to the machine the same way RnEmbNet does: if RnEmbNet can reach your machine, AutoDST Link will too; if RnEmbNet can’t, AutoDST Link can’t either. Getting the machine onto your network is the machine’s own setup — for that, ask the seller of your machine.

If the app can’t find your machine

  1. Check that the machine is switched on and its panel (network settings) shows an IP address.
  2. Make sure your device is on the same network as the machine (not a guest Wi-Fi).
  3. A machine on Wi-Fi can take up to a minute to wake up after sitting idle — wait a moment and try Refresh.
  4. Click or tap “Machine...” and type the address shown on the machine’s panel.
  5. Run Test Connection and email the report to lance@designagrave.com.
